Review by Tim Bourke: This is a very slight reworking of "Royal Spades Auction Bridge", indeed the book is credited as such in the printing history. The second edition under this title in 1920 contains a chapter on "Contract Bridge" which the author (mistakenly) believed would supplant auction within a year or two. The bidding and scoring is as at the British version of Auction except that there is a 50 point bonus for making a contract and for each overtrick. The 1924 edition has the new laws with explanatory notes by the author.
