Description:
Review by Tim Bourke: This seeks to instruct the reader about bidding using a two club system with other twos non-forcing, based on an appropriate 17-20 with a 5+-card suit. Otherwise it used an Acol-like structure. The notrump ranges originally discussed were 16-18 and 13-15 (12-14 was mentioned). Two lightly edited versions of this book were published in the 1970s as "Bridge/Standard Bidding", using 12-14 as the range for the weak notrump. Positive features include the quizzes at the end of each chapter and the appendices. The latter originally provided a summary of the main work and an outline of Acol Twos. The section on Acol was expanded in each subsequent edition and some illustrative hands were added in Appendix C of the 1976 printing.
